Patients with obesity will often be denied hernia surgery because of the potential for complications and hernia recurrence. As a result, many patients with obesity will present with hernia complications. This video reviews the concept of hernia-neck ratio and highlights the importance of offering hernia surgery for patients who present with hernia morphology that is associated with higher rates of complications.
