Over the last decade, robotic transabdominal preperitoneal ventral hernia repair has been one of the biggest changes in the management of ventral hernias. This technique is often the gateway to robotic retromuscular repairs and can help surgeons build a better understanding of peritoneal dissection in the setting of hernias.
