Lumbar and subcostal hernias can be effectively managed with preperitoneal approaches to hernia repair. This video reviews a tranabdominal preperitoneal hernia repair of a subcostal and lumbar hernia. A brief review of neuroanatomy of the lumbar plexus is also performed.
