Moderate sized defects in hernia can be managed in a variety of ways. This video reviews augmentation of traditional of transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) approach with posterior rectus aponeuroplasty (RA). A large sublay space can be developed to accommodate mesh. By augmenting the closure with rectus aponeuroplasty, tension is relieved on the fascial closure.
