Subxiphoid hernias related to prior sternotomy are common and can be challenging to address. This video reviews a transabdominal preperitoneal repair of a subxiphoid hernia. Tenets of repair include dissection and visualization of the central tendon of the diaphragm, strategic defect closure, and use of heavy weight mesh whenever possible.
