Peritoneal defects can occur when performing TAPP inguinal hernia repairs. Often, redundant hernia sac can be utilized to address these holes. Some surgeons have concerns about challenges that abandonment of sac may present as the distal sac is not available and may result in challenging flap repairs. This video reviews this scenario and highlights other options assuring that mesh is safely excluded from the viscera.
